Introduction

Did you know that fewer than 10% of households in India have a laptop or computer? In developed countries, over 75% of households have one.

Crazy, right? And even though more students are joining schools, half of the schools in Delhi still don’t offer science education! This shows there’s a huge gap between what students need to learn and the resources they actually have.

At Apni Pathshala, we’re trying to change that by opening learning centers called PODs. We’re working hard to make digital education and technology available to every student, especially those who haven’t had the chance to experience it yet.

This year, we’re teaming up with VITM (Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum) and NCSM (National Council of Science Museums) to host the National Science Seminar 2025 (NSS 2025). It’s going to be something special!

But why is this event such a big deal? Let’s take a closer look at NSS 2025 and see how it’s going to open doors for students all across India!

What is the National Science Seminar (NSS)?

The National Science Seminar (NSS), hosted by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), is one of the biggest events in India for students who love science. It’s a platform where young learners can explore the world of science, get inspired, and learn about the latest advancements. This event has been happening every year since 1982 and has been inspiring students across the country.

Each year, NSS focuses on a specific theme that shows where science and technology are heading. And guess what? This year’s theme is “The Quantum Age Begins: Potentials and Challenges”. It’s all about exploring the exciting world of quantum technology and its huge impact on the future!

You’ve probably heard about artificial intelligence and computers getting smarter. But quantum technology takes this to a whole new level.

Quantum computing could solve problems in minutes that would take regular computers thousands of years. It could revolutionize everything from medicine and cybersecurity to climate science and space exploration.

India has a real opportunity to become a leader in this field. But we need young minds who understand these technologies, ask the right questions, and aren’t afraid to innovate.

That’s exactly what NSS 2025 is designed to do: spark that curiosity and prepare the next generation of Indian scientists and innovators.

What Will Happen at the NSS 2025?

Think seminars are boring? Think again! NSS 2025 is packed with exciting activities that will have you on the edge of your seat, diving deep into the world of quantum technology.

Event Details:
Date: October 30-31, 2025
Location: Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum (VITM), Bengaluru
Theme: “The Quantum Age Begins: Potentials and Challenges”

Teaser of Day 1

The event kicks off with a written test designed to evaluate participants’ knowledge of quantum technology. This will be followed by presentations from State and UT level winners on this theme- “The Quantum Age Begins: Potentials and Challenges”

A session on explaining a set of hands-on activities based on a low or no-cost approach will be conducted by the experts for these winners to decipher the quantum property of light.

The day will conclude with a prize distribution ceremony to honor the best presentations.

Teaser of Day 2

On the second day, participants will have the chance to explore the Center for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE) at IISc Bengaluru, where they can experience cutting-edge quantum research firsthand.

This will allow them to connect theory with practice and glimpse the future of science. The day will also feature an interactive Q&A session with leading researchers, giving students the opportunity to ask questions about quantum technology, research careers, and the exciting opportunities available in the field.

But don’t forget, this is just a teaser! There is much more to the event, including interactive sessions and hands-on learning that go beyond traditional teaching methods.

How Apni Pathshala is Making This Year Special for Many Children

At Apni Pathshala, we know that the future of education isn’t just about textbooks and exams. It’s about creating meaningful learning experiences.

Our collaboration with NCSM and VITM is not just a sponsorship; it’s a shared commitment to reimagine how India nurtures thinkers, not followers.

Through our partnership, the first step VITM has taken is to offer a free tour of the museum for SOF POD children. This allows them to visit the museum and interact with experts in the field of quantum technology. It is a unique opportunity for the students.

This year’s event is more than just a seminar; it’s a step towards a brighter, tech-driven future for the next generation of learners. We’re excited to see how this partnership will inspire the scientists, engineers, and innovators of tomorrow!

Conclusion

The partnership between VITM, NCSM, and Apni Pathshala is centered around one goal: empowering students to become innovators and leaders in a world driven by science and technology.

As we move forward, Apni Pathshala remains committed to ensuring that every student, no matter where they come from, has access to quality digital education. This collaboration is just one way we’re preparing the next generation to lead in the world of science, technology, and innovation.

But that’s not all, we are hoping to open PODs in NCSM Museums across India.
Now we are excited. Are you? If yes, visit the VITM website to know more.
