Purpose:
To help pod owners organise their PCs, collect serial numbers, and install the Nexus Endpoint Software so ApniPathshala can manage and monitor the computers remotely.
What You Need:
– All pod PCs ready
– Internet connection
– A mobile phone with WhatsApp
– A pen and paper or Excel on mobile/laptop
– Basic computer access (no special skills needed)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Number Your PCs
Assign a number to each PC using stickers or masking tape. Example: PC 1, PC 2, PC 3…. Write the number clearly on the CPU or monitor.
Step 2: Find the Serial Number for Each PC
For each PC:
- Turn it ON and wait for it to fully start.
- Open the Terminal on the Linux PC.
- Shortcut: Press Ctrl + Alt + T
- Type the following command and press Enter:
sudo dmidecode -s system-serial-number
- Then type an admin password

- The system will show the Serial Number.

6. Note it down along with the PC number.
Step 3: Create and Share an Excel Sheet
1. Open Google Sheets or Excel
2. Make 2 columns: PC Number and Serial Number
3. Save and share this sheet with the ApniPathshala team on WhatsApp or email.

Step 4: Wait for the Download Link
– The AP Tech Team will share a script or download link.
– Open the Terminal.
– Copy-paste the script (or command) shared by the team. Example:

– Press Enter.
– The installation will run automatically.

– Note click on the Cancel button then during the installation process.
-Once finished, Nexus Endpoint will be installed on the PC.
Step 5: Inform the IT Team
After all PCs are done, message the group: ” software installed on all PCs in [pod_Name]”
Summary Checklist for Each PC:
- PC is labelled (PC 1, PC 2, etc.)
- Serial number collected.
- Entered in the Excel sheet & shared with the ApniPathshala Team.
- Software installed from the official link.
- The icon is showing on the Desktop.
- Informed the IT team.
